Blowing Out
Lips parted in ecstasy, like the ground split jagged in an earthquake.
Neurotransmitters binding and releasing as synapses rupture
in the moment they clasp together.
Skin burning frigid as spinal cord distends
to the blossoming harmonies of the awakening soul
leaking through the clay vessel of the flesh.
Chamber walls of the heart crumbling
in an imperishable flame of radiant compassion
as consciousness shatters the illusion that is Brahma’s Creation
and dissolves the dream of sleeping Vishnu,
finding itself upon the farther shore, where no wind blows,
that has always been present, always within.
